You do not appear on the live map

If your dot is missing, or your co-riders are not showing up, the fix is almost always a location permission or the riders not being in the same ride. Work through these in order.

Before you start

Live group tracking needs Location set to Always so your position keeps updating while the screen is off, and every rider has to be in the same active ride.

    Set Location to Always. Open your phone Settings, find RideClan, tap Location, and choose Allow all the time. While using the app only is not enough once the screen goes off on the bike.

    Allow background activity. Exempt RideClan from battery optimization so the phone does not pause it in your pocket. On some Android phones this needs an extra OEM step, covered on the GPS and battery page below.

    Make sure everyone is in the same ride. You only see co-riders who joined the same active group ride. If someone tapped the invite but did not join, or the leader ended the ride, they will not appear.

    Check your connection. Live positions travel over the network. If a rider loses signal their dot stops moving until they reconnect. Turn airplane mode off and on to reset data.

If it does not work

If everyone has Location on Always and is in the same ride but you still cannot see each other, email us with both riders devices, the app version, and roughly when the ride was, and we will check the session.
