Getting started

Turn on the permissions RideClan needs

RideClan needs a few permissions to navigate and keep your group updated while you ride. Here is what to allow, and why.

Applies to: Android and iPhone

Before you start

RideClan asks for Location set to Always. That is what lets navigation and live group sharing keep working when your screen is off on the bike.
  1. 1

Allow location. When RideClan asks, choose Allow while using, then switch to Always when prompted.

  2. 2

Allow notifications. Say yes so you get group ride invites and SOS alerts.

  3. 3

Free it from battery limits (Android). Exempt RideClan from battery optimization so it keeps tracking in your pocket.

  4. 4

Check you are ready. The ride-readiness check confirms GPS is on before your first ride.

Why Always location?

Your live position has to keep updating for your group and family while the phone is locked on the mount. RideClan only shares it during a ride, and only with people you choose. It is never sold or shared with advertisers.

If it does not work

If your position is stuck or you see 0 km, location is almost always the cause. Reopen the location permission in your phone Settings and set it to Always. On Android, also allow background activity for RideClan.

Still stuck? Email [email protected] with your device, app version, and the ride time, and we will help.
