How RideClan handles your live location

Your location powers the live ride, and nothing more. Here is exactly who can see it, when, and what we never do with it.

Applies to: Android and iPhone

Who can see your location

During a ride, your live location is shared only with the group you are riding with. If you choose to send a live-follow link, the person you send it to can also follow you on a web map for that ride. Outside of those two cases, your live location is not shared with anyone.

It is opt-in and time-limited

Group sharing happens while you are in a ride together, and the live-follow link is something you start and send yourself. The link is per-ride and stops when the ride ends, so sharing does not linger after you park.

What we never do

We never sell your location, and we never share it with advertisers. Your location exists to make the live ride work for you and your group, not to be sold on.

Tracks are trimmed near home

When you export or share a ride, the track is privacy-trimmed near home so a saved GPX or a shared card does not reveal where you live.

FAQ
