Group and squad rides

Manage your squad: rename, add riders, leave, or delete

A squad is the crew you ride together with. You manage all of it from the squad page: rename it, add riders, leave, or delete it.

Applies to: Android and iPhone

Rename a squad

Open the squad page and tap the pencil next to the name to rename it inline. Type the new name and confirm, and the name updates for everyone in the squad.

Add riders

From the squad page, add riders in whichever way is easiest: show the QR code for them to scan, share the tap-to-join link, or send the invite code. Scanning the QR code or tapping the link opens RideClan to a Join this squad? prompt. A rider who does not have the app yet is taken to install it first, then offered the join on first open.

Leave a squad

If you no longer want to be in a squad, open the squad page and choose Leave squad. You come off the roster, and you can always be re-invited later with a QR code, link, or code.

Delete a squad

Admins can delete a squad from the squad page. Deleting a squad removes it for everyone, so use it when the crew is done, not just to step away yourself. To only remove yourself, use Leave squad instead.

If it does not work

If a change does not seem to stick, check your connection and reopen the squad page. If you do not see Delete squad, you are not an admin of that squad, so ask an admin to delete it or use Leave squad to remove only yourself.

FAQ

What is the difference between leaving and deleting a squad?

Leaving removes only you from the squad and keeps it running for everyone else. Deleting removes the whole squad for everyone, and only admins can do it.

Can I add riders after the squad is created?

Yes. Open the squad page any time and share the QR code, the tap-to-join link, or the invite code to add more riders.

Will renaming a squad affect past rides?

No. Renaming only changes the squad name going forward. Your recorded rides and their stats are not affected.
