Report a post or block a rider
Applies to: Android and iPhone
- 1
Open the menu on the post or reply. The three dots. Both posts and replies have one.
- 2
Choose Report. Add a short reason if you can. It helps to know what you are looking at, but a report with no reason still counts.
- 3
Or choose Block. Blocking hides that rider from you straight away. You do not have to report someone to block them.
What happens after you report something
The report goes to us and we read it. Separately, anything reported by three different riders is hidden automatically, without waiting for us to be awake. Three distinct riders is the bar deliberately: one person cannot hide a post they simply disagree with, but genuinely bad content does not sit there for hours.
Blocking works everywhere, not just in the Community
Blocking a rider hides them from you across RideClan, not only in the feed. It is one-sided and we do not tell them. If you change your mind, you can unblock from the same place.
Some things never get posted at all
A small filter runs when a post or reply is written and rejects the most blatant slurs and abuse outright, so it never reaches the feed for anyone to have to report. It is a first line rather than the whole defence, which is why Report matters.
What we will remove
Harassment and abuse, slurs, spam and selling, anyone else's live location or number plate, and posts about outrunning police or racing on public roads. Disagreeing with a take is fine. Going after the rider who posted it is not.
FAQ
Will the rider know I reported or blocked them?
No. Reports are not shown to the person reported, and blocking is silent.
Can one person get a post hidden?
No. It takes three different riders reporting the same post before it hides automatically, which stops a single disagreement from removing something.
What if my own post was hidden and I think that is wrong?
Contact support and we will look at it. Automatic hiding is reactive and it can be reversed.
