How the follow camera and map work during a ride

The map follows you
Once you are riding, the camera locks onto your position and tilts to look ahead down the road, so your next turn is always in view. You do not need to drag the map to keep up.
Zoom adapts to your speed
The map zooms out as you speed up so you can see further ahead, then zooms back in as you slow down for turns and junctions. This happens on its own.
Look around, then it re-centers
Swipe or pinch the map any time to look around the area. After a few seconds without touching it, the camera slides back to following you, so you are never left off-screen.
Why the view snapped back
If the map jumped back to your bike, that is the follow camera re-centering after you stopped interacting with it. It is expected - it keeps your position and next maneuver on screen.

Can I stop the map from moving?
Swipe to look around and the map holds still for a few seconds, then re-centers on you so you never lose your place.
Why does the zoom keep changing?
Zoom follows your speed - wider at speed to see ahead, closer when slow for turns. It is automatic.
