Group and squad rides
See everyone live and separation alerts
Applies to: Android and iPhone
Before you start
You need at least 2 riders in the same ride to see co-riders on the live map. Everyone should have location set to Always and a connection so their position keeps updating.
Co-rider pucks move in real time
Each rider in the group shows up as a puck on the shared live map, with their avatar so you can tell people apart. The pucks move as everyone rides, refreshing every few seconds, so you always know where the crew is spread out on the road.
The geofence circle turns red on separation
A circle keeps the group together on the map. When a rider drifts too far and the group separates, the circle turns red so you notice fast. That is your cue to ease off, regroup, or check that everyone is okay before carrying on.
Tap a rider to focus on them
Tap any co-rider puck to highlight that rider and see their details, so you can keep an eye on a specific person, such as the newest rider or someone who has dropped back.
If it does not work
If a rider is missing from the live map, check that they are in the same active ride, have location set to Always, allow RideClan to run in the background, and have a connection. If a puck stops moving, that rider has likely lost signal and will reappear once they are back online.
FAQ
Why did the circle turn red?
A rider has separated from the group. Ease off and regroup, or check that the rider who dropped back is okay before continuing.
How often do co-rider positions update?
Positions refresh every few seconds while each rider has a connection. If someone loses signal, their puck pauses and catches up once they are back online.
